Insert New Row in Excel

In this blog post we will see how we can insert a new row in an excel sheet. There are various methods available in excel to insert a new row.

1. Right Click
2. Insert Command
3. Ctrl and +
We will see them one by one: 



1. Right Click:

This is 1st method with which we can insert a new row by using mouse right click. Just follow below steps:

1. Select the entire row where we want to insert a new row. For example if we want to insert a new row on row no 4 then select entire 4th row. (In below image we can see 4th row is selected).




2. Press right click on your mouse. Various options will appear on screen. Now, press left click on “Insert” option.




3. Now we can see new blank row is inserted on row no 4.



2. Insert Command:

Next method is by using Insert command. This command we can find in Home Tab under cells group. 

Below image is for your easy reference.



1. Select the entire row where we want to insert a new row. For example if we want to insert a new row on row no 4 then select entire 4th row. (In below image we can see 4th row is selected).


2. Go to Insert command and select “Insert Sheet Rows” option.



3. Now we can see new blank row is inserted on row no 4.



3. Ctrl and + :

This is the keyboard shortcut available to insert a new row.

1. Select the 
entire row where we want to insert a new row. For example if we want to insert a new row on row no 4 then select entire 4th row. (In below image we can see 4th row is selected).



2. Now hold “Ctrl” key and press “+” key on your keyboard. 
Now we can see new blank row is inserted on row no 4.
