Hide & Unhide Formula Bar in Excel

Previously we have posted blog post on “Formula Bar” in excel. Formula bar can be used for below things:

1. To see formula applied in active cell
2. To see data entered in active cell.



Sometimes we want to hide this formula bar to maintain the confidentiality of the data. For example, we have prepared one excel file where we have applied various formulas but we don’t want to show these formulas to other people. In this case we can hide the Formula Bar.

Let’s learn about how we can hide or unhide “Formula Bar”.

1. Go to “View” tab.



2. Once we go to “View” tab, we can see “Formula Bar” command under ‘Show’ group. We can either check or uncheck the checkbox for this command. By default this checkbox is checked.


3. We have to just uncheck this checkbox and with this we can hide “Formula Bar”.
4. To unhide this formula bar we have to again check this checkbox.


In this way, we can hide or unhide checkbox in excel.

Select all cells highlighted with specific color at a time

Many times we apply colors to cells in excel sheet which will help us to identify important cells just by looking at the data. In this blog post we will learn to Insert Multiple Rows in excel based on cell value with the help of VBA Code. For this we have prepared dummy data as shown in below image. This blog post is continuation to our series of posts on “Conditional Formatting”. In this blog post, we will learn about highlighting values which are “Above Average” and “Below Average” of the selected values. To learn this post in an easy way, I have randomly listed few numbers as shown in below image. We will learn how to highlight the numbers which are above the average of all the selected numbers and which are below the average of all the selected numbers. In this blog post we will learn how to apply “Number Filters” in excel. We will see all the sub types of Number Filters in detail with below example.
