Excel Shortcuts Ctrl A to Ctrl Z
Use of keyboard shortcuts while working in excel will be a great help for us. It will save a lot of time. In this post we are going to see Excel Keyboard Shortcuts for alphabets A to Z while using Ctrl key.
Now, we will see in detail how each of above listed shortcut combinations will work:
Ctrl + K : It will open a window named as "Insert Hyperlink".
Below table will give you a brief idea for each shortcut and its functionality:
Ctrl + A : It will select all content present on the worksheet. If active cell is in the table then it will select entire table.
Ctrl + C : It will copy the selected content. The content which is copied can be seen in the Clipboard.
Ctrl + D : It will fill down the content from upper cell. For example we have inserted a number “1” in the cell A1. If we select the cell range from A1:A5 and press Ctrl + D, then this number “1” will automatically fill down in the entire cell range.
Ctrl + E : It will automatically fill the pattern, but first we have to list the couple of patterns and we will get similar output pattern. For example, we have listed two words in each cell. The first word is Country and the other word is its capital. Now if we want to separate out only capitals into next cell, then we can use this “Flash Fill” shortcut key.
Press Ctrl + E and the similar pattern will be reflected.

Ctrl + F : It will open "Find and Replace" window with Find tab selected.
Ctrl + G : It will open Go To window.
Ctrl + H : It will open "Find and Replace" window with Replace tab selected.
Ctrl + I : It will convert selected text into Italic.
Ctrl + J : There is no shortcut for this combination.
Ctrl + K : It will open a window named as "Insert Hyperlink".
Ctrl + L : It will convert the selected data into "Table Format".
Ctrl + M : There is no shortcut for this combination.
Ctrl + N : It will open new workbook.
Ctrl + O : It will show list of all the recent excel workbooks to open them.
Ctrl + P : It will opens up an option to print the worksheet.
Ctrl + Q : There is no shortcut for this combination.
Ctrl + R : It will fill the content from left cell into right cell. For example we have inserted a number “1” in the cell A1. If we select the cell range from A1:D1 and press Ctrl + D, then this number “1” will automatically fill right in the entire cell range.
Ctrl + S : If the active workbook is not yet saved then this shortcut key will open Save As option. If active sheet is already saved then it will save the workbook with most updated data.
Ctrl + T : It will convert the selected data into "Table Format".
Ctrl + U : It will apply underline to selected text.
Ctrl + W : It will close the active workbook.
Ctrl + Y : It will Redo the previous action.
Ctrl + Z : It will undo the previously done action.
Practice these shortcuts in your daily work and you will become master of it.
